A market is its people. This campaign is traders who've held their units for decades and teenagers who grew up in the aisles, together.
The Brixton Traders & Community Association represents traders and community members connected to Brixton Village and Market Row. The association is working to protect independent businesses, support traders and ensure the future of the markets reflects the needs of the people who live, work and trade in Brixton.
The Advocacy Academy is a Brixton-based youth organising organisation supporting young people and communities to build strategic campaigns for social and economic change. The organisation is supporting Buy Back Brixton with campaign organising, community mobilisation and strategic support.
Backed by Cllr Martin Abrams, Leader of Lambeth Council, and Helen Hayes MP, plus the Stour Trust, whose application won the market its Asset of Community Value listing.
